Course Overview

This course is designed to inform learners about trauma and its affect on infants, children and youth.

“Trauma and Children, Tracking Fear in Kids” begins by defining trauma and, over the course of the learning session, discusses trauma’s associated diagnoses of Acute Stress and Posttraumatic Disorder while introducing more technical concepts and terms related to brain function. As learners progress through the on line training they are able to understand how fear is tracked within the brain and body, and how it is different from trauma.

In addition, trauma symptoms or adaptations are explained as they pertain to a young trauma survivor’s developmental stages. Finally, the learning session discusses how children can be healed from their traumatic experiences.
